"How do I set-up my SkyscraperAds iframe code on my website?"

You will be emailed your SkyscraperAds HTML code when you complete the join form. Copy the code in the email and paste it into your website. We recommend you put the code on a page that gets a lot of traffic so that you can maximize your earned credits. Pages that typically get the most hits on websites are pages people have to go to like the home page or sign-up page. When pasting your HTML code, be sure to paste it inside a table cell or layer. Your code is for an iframe and if it is not contained in either of these, it will mess with the integrity of your site's layout. Whether you choose the table cell method or layer method, they must have the specified width 120 pixels and the specified height of 600 pixels.

Table Set-up Example:
***Please note that this is just a simple example and by no means is this how you have to set your website up!
<table>
     <tr>
     <td width="680" height="600">Your Content Would Be Here</td>
     <td width="120" height="600">
<iframe src="http://www.framexchange.com/swap.cfm?id=5555" width="120" height="600" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" align="top" scrolling="no" frameborder="0"></iframe>
     </td>
     </tr>
</table>

This is what that code might look like:

If your site is made using layers, the above code would be very similar. You would paste the iframe code inside the div tags. Remember to specify the width (120) and the height (600) of the layer.

"What are iframes?"

An iframe is a floating frame or object that pulls in whatever graphic or page you tell it to. An iframe isn't bound to the side of a browser window. Just like an image, a floating iframe can sit anywhere on the page. It goes where it wants to go and calls in what it wants to call in. (for more information on iframes please click here.)

"Why can't Netscape users see iframes?"

iframes have not been around that long on the internet. Early browsers were not able to render iframes, however now, every browser should be able to. All Microsoft browsers (Internet Explorer 3.0-present) are completely compatible with iframes. It is true that Netscape has been behind on many compatibility issues including iframes. The current Netscape 6.0 and on works just fine. All other Netscape users will not be able to view iframes...unfortunately, they are not able to view a lot of current technological advances besides iframes either. It is important to note that Netscape users (under 6.0) are in the minority and make up about 1-3% of the internet users worldwide. (for more information on iframes please click here.)

"How do I edit my account information?"

"URL of the ad you want us to display for you:"

Your ad page must have its own unique URL, just as a banner image would have. If you have one already, type in the complete URL of your ad page including "http://".

If you don't have an ad page created yet, leave "I don't have one yet" in the blank. Once your account is created, you will be able to login and provide that information when you are ready.

Create your SkyscraperAds.com ad in accordance with our "SkyscraperAds.com Ad Page Specifications", upload it to the server where your site is hosted, and enter the URL at your SkyscraperAds.com Member Admin page where it says "Ad URL". You account will be automatically updated.

In this blank enter the web site address where your ad directs to. When your ad is shown through our network on other SkyscraperAds members' sites, this link is where internet users would end up after clicking your ad. Please make sure the URL you enter is correct or you might end up driving traffic to a page other than the page you intend.

"URL where you will place our SkyscraperAds.com code"

In this blank enter the web site address where you will be displaying SkyscraperAds.com ads on your site. For maximum exposure of your own ad throughout our network, you can sign-up with SkyscraperAds.com for multiple accounts and use the different codes provided on different pages on your site. For each of these new accounts, you can use the same ad to promote your site. You can display ads on your home page or on any other pages in your website. Enter whatever page you decided upon here for this account.

"Select one category that best describes your site:"

This information is used for targeting ads. Just as you will be able to select specific target categories and exclude specific categories for your ads, other network members select their targets and excluded categories as well.

"Select the site categories you wish to target your ad to:"

The best way to get the most out of your advertising is to reach the market most likely to buy your product/service with your advertising. For example, if you sold baseball cards from your site your ideal "target market" may be the same people who visit sports related sites, or even sites that cater to collectors. So, if your were going to select where you want your ad to be shown, it would be smart to specifically target your SA ad to appear on sports related sites. This is called target marketing. Simply select the target market(s) that most closely match(es) the target you want your SA ad to reach. You can select more than one target category by holding down the control key and clicking on the categories.

Many marketers also run untargeted advertising on the Internet to cover as broad a market as possible. In this case, you would selected the "Run of Web" category from the Target Categories.

"Select the site categories you do NOT wish to show ads for on your site:"

Just as you may want to target your ad to certain categories, you may also want to exclude certain types of ads from being shown on your site. You may select more than one category by holding down the control key and clicking on the categories.
